Pusher Seals

Pusher mechanical seals are one of the primary types of seals in the marketplace today. They can be found in virtually every piece of industrial OEM rotating equipment moving liquids or gas: including pumps, mixers, and compressors.

A pusher seal has a set of faces that form the primary seal (two components in which one face rotates against a stationary face). Then it has secondary seals (O-rings, U-cups, wedges), typically composed of elastomeric compounds or PTFE. These form static seals to the equipment while one acts as a dynamic (sliding) seal allowing the seal to move with the equipment to accommodate for wear, tear, and vibration.

In theory, pusher seals are designed to handle the hydraulic load of the sealed medium in such a way that it will help in the sealing of that process. For functional purposes seals need a spring element (single spring, multi-springs, wave springs) incorporated to help with axial movement. It also helps during start up, stopping, changes in pressure, wear and misalignment of the equipment.

Pusher seals are the primary seals of choice in the industrial markets: chemical, petrochemical, refining, food, paper production, grain processing, etc. They have a strong performance history and they are cost effective.

PPC has an excellent line of Pusher seals, engineered with the customer in mind. Superior performance, reliability, ease of use, and at a great price point. All made in the USA.

PPC P-3F Dual Cartridge Seal

The P3-F dual seal utilizing the latest in sealing technology, stationary springs compensating for pump stuffing box misalignment, monolithic rotary faces to reduce face warpage and maintain face flatness across an extreme range of temperatures and
pressures.

Dual Gas Liftoff Seals

Dual (Double and Tandem) liquid or dry running contacting seals. These dual seals are either a double or tandem seal utilizing a buffer/ barrier fluid in between the seal faces. The PPC 7000 seal is a dual contacting dry running seal for Zero Leakage.

682A Pusher Seals

PPC’s 682A is a pusher style seal with an o-ring secondary and is available in all 3 arrangements: single, tandem and double.
